Coronavirus - we are asking all patients who have travelled from China, Hong Kong, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Taiwan or Thailand in the last 14 days not to come to the surgery but to stay at home and call 111 to seek advise for your medical problem. We are sure you will understand our actions on the advise of Public Health to safeguard our patients, staff and local community.
We are now using Chain SMS to message our patients
Chain SMS is a system which allows us to easily send text messages to patients. It means we can be much more proactive about some communications, messaging you quickly and securely, so you are not waiting around to hear from us!
Some examples of how we might use it:
- test results
- reminders or notifications
- letting you know we tried to call
- sending you advice at the end of a consultation
The practice name will always be at the bottom of the message. You won't be able to reply to them. Please help us to help you by keeping your number up to date. If you don't want us to contact you this way, please do let us know.
GPs are able to recommend trusted health and wellbeing apps on the NHS Apps Library to their patients. The NHS Apps Library currently has more than 70 apps covering a wide range of health and wellbeing specialisms and physical activity monitors and has now had more than a million visits. Mental health apps have so far proved to be the most popular followed by pregnancy and baby apps, with sleep, diabetes and healthy living making up the remaining top five categories.

The Benson Volunteer Helpline is a local group of volunteers who give lifts to villagers, who are registered with Mill Stream Surgery, to their various hospital or medical appointments, or just to collect a prescription or some shopping.
If you could possibly give a little of your time to join this team of drivers who provide a much needed local service, when the need arises, telephone 01491 825992 or pop into the office to find out more.
The helpline is based at Benson Parish Hall and the telephone is manned Monday to Friday 9am to 11am.
